Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish background. The actress is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino County in California, when Ryder was seven. There was no electricity. There was no television books was her only source of entertainment to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder, then 12, was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Ryder landed her first film role on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years older. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. Ryder hoped her acting career would change this. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen. However, she continued to pursue her goals. Her big break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
