Reese Witherspoon took her career seriously following her first enrollment in Stanford University. Her early critical successes included performances in films like Pleasantville and Election however it was her performance as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a turning point for her career. Witherspoon received the Academy Award, in 2005, for her role as Walk the Line. Water for Elephants This Means War was one of her most recent movies she starred in. The film also earned an additional Oscar nomination. Witherspoon enjoyed great success as both a TV actor and producer on David E. Kelley's awarding-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon on the 22nd of March, 1976, on the 22nd of March in New Orleans Louisiana. Witherspoon was born in Louisiana, New Orleans on March 22 in 1996. The parents of her were a doctor and nurse. Witherspoon took part in a local paper's call for additionals due to an impulse back in 1991. In 1991, Witherspoon was just 14 years old when she was offered the role of the main role on the film The Man in the Moon. Witherspoon considered quitting acting her first year of college to pursue a medical career alongside her parents. The actress won the Catalonian International Film Festival Best actress Award in 1996 due to her performance in Freeway. To devote the time needed to acting she deferred her college education for a year. In 2003's film The Invisible Man she had her first feature-length role. The television debut of her career was House of Lies Whitney. Also, she appeared in The Dictator as well as The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. As well as her profession as an actor, she is also an artist who has shown her paintings in many galleries.
